Preparation of Catering equipment For Hire

All PKL catering equipment must pass rigorous tests prior to every new hire.

This testing takes place in Kit Heaven, Europe's largest catering equipment test and inspection facility.

Equipment that is returned from hire is logged back into stock by scanning its unique barcode. Using the latest in barcode technology enables us to track each piece of equipment via our computer system and let us record details of its history, which may be of use in the future.

The next stage is cleaning.
Whether it has been on hire for a day or for a year, all equipment is dismantled and thoroughly cleaned by trained professionals using appropriate materials. |

Testing the equipment happens next.
Qualified engineers test all items for general purpose and that all safety features are in full working order. We also take into consideration any new legislation that may have an impact on how the equipment should function.

CORGI registered engineers' carry out the tests on gas equipment and follow a list of controlled inspections.

Our 'hot room', a climate-controlled environment is used to test our refrigeration equipment.
